PROTEN GOLD donation as an extra feeding for MDR-TB Patient continued in the middle of COVID-19 pandemic in 2021
MDR-TB cases in Indonesia still become major public health problem, beside COVID-19 pandemic still happen until now. Beside problem on disease, MDR-TB patient also suffer drastic lost of body weight and decrease of nutritional status as well as malnutrition.
To support and to reduce burden among MDR-TB patient, this year, we from CSR committee PT Otsuka Indonesia continue our program to provide extra feeding for MDR-TB patient in the form of PROTEN GOLD, as protein source food which are expected can solve malnutrition problem among MDR-TB patients.
In 2021, we chose the Central Java region to distribute PROTEN GOLD donations as additional food for MDR-TB patients. This is because Central Java is one of the areas with a high number of MDR-TB patients in Indonesia. Collaborated with one of the former MDR-TB patient organizations SEMAR (Semangat Membara Berantas Tuberkulosis), to distribute PROTEN to MDR-TB patients in the Central Java region.
PT Otsuka Indonesia was represented by Mrs. I Gusti Ayu Putu Dewi and Mr. Alif Hartawan from the Marketing team, and dr. Yoesrianto from the Medical Advisor team, and symbolically handed over a total of ± 200 boxes of PROTEN GOLD to Diky Kurniawan, a representative from SEMAR TB RO (Resistensi Obat), Central Java. Located at Moewardi Hospital Surakarta, we also took the time to meet and greet the MDR-TB patients who are being hospitalized. Hopefully this supplementary feeding can improve the nutritional status of MDR-TB patients undergoing treatment and can recover optimally.
